CHRISTCHURCH, New Zealand – We’re thrilled to introduce our second import for the 2025 Tauihi season. Welcome to the squad, Abigail Fogg!
Standing at 6’4”, Fogg has spent the past four seasons playing in the Swiss SBL, winning several domestic championships with Elfic Fribourg. During the 2025 SBL season, she posted averages of 16.3 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.1 assists, while shooting 61.3% from the field and 38.1% from three-point range.
“Abi will be our veteran presence in the frontcourt,” said Head Coach Alex Stojkovic. “Her leadership, professionalism, and work ethic will help guide our younger players, and her ability to control the paint gives us a strong foundation to build around. She’s going to be a key piece on both ends of the floor.”
On her decision to sign with the Pouākai, Fogg said, “The team looked like it was going to be competitive! The club has a very clear project and great resources to support their athletes. Their community involvement was definitely interesting too and it looks like Christchurch will be a beautiful place to live and explore (plus I’ve always had a good experience with kiwis in the past).”
Fogg possesses a wealth of European playing experience, having also competed in the Italian, Hungarian, Belgian and Turkish domestic leagues.
“I’m a true 5 who can also shoot from outside,” added Fogg, describing her game. “I like to play in transition, but also enjoy working the offense in the half court to find a good team shot. On defense I like to be a presence in the lane to deter shots and help out my teammates whenever I can.”
Stojkovic praised Fogg’s fit with the Pouākai, saying, “With Abigail, we’ve added exactly what we needed – size, experience, and an inside presence. She brings rim protection, the ability to run the floor, and a high basketball IQ that will anchor us defensively.”
“She’s had experience with the Canadian national team and has performed well in both Switzerland and the FIBA Europe Cup, so I’m confident she’ll make a big impact in our league.”
Fogg is excited to bring her basketball talent to a new corner of the globe.
