We’re pumped to welcome back Maddy Timms to the ProcureX Mainland Pouākai ahead of the 2026 Tauihi season.
“I’m really excited to finally have Maddy with us,” said Head Coach Alex Stojkovic. “She would have been part of our team last season before her ACL injury, so we’ve been looking forward to getting her back on the court.”
The 22-year-old first suited up for the Pouākai in 2023 and re-signed for the 2024 season.
“After missing last season, I feel very grateful to be a part of the team this year and super eager to get back on the court,” said Timms on her return. “My mindset going into this season is to play hard and bring lots of good energy and vibes. I loved my experience with the Pouākai two years ago and am looking forward to being involved with a great culture and community again.”
Timms played alongside 2024 Pouākai forward Haliegh Reinoehl in the Australian NBL1 for the Mt. Gambier Pioneers in 2025. Across 18 games, Timms’ averaged 4.1 points and 3.8 rebounds.
“I’ve been really impressed with the way Maddy has handled her rehab and everything that comes with being out for a season. Her professionalism, positive attitude and toughness have really stood out to me. She is also a really good three-point shooter, which is obviously something that fits really well with how we want to play.”
Timms has also gained international experience in 3×3 basketball, representing New Zealand in the FIBA 3×3 Nations League.
“As a 3/4, Maddy gives us a lot of versatility and different ways we can use her,” said Stojkovic. “I think she has a real opportunity to push for Tauihi minutes this season, while we also make sure we manage her return properly after a year away from the game. I’m really excited to see what she can do.”
“My goals for the season are to stay healthy, compete in trainings and games, and to learn from our experienced roster of players,” said Timms. “I want to be a great teammate and contribute wherever I can to help the team chase our first championship.”
