Sharne Robati Re-Signs With the Pouākai

Join us in welcoming back Sharne Robati as she suits up for her second season with the Mainland Pouākai!

Robati was a core player for the Pouākai in 2023, recording game averages of 11.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and shooting a stellar 38.7% from beyond the arc.

“We are excited to have Sharne re-sign with the Pouākai this season,” said Head Coach Paul Flynn. “She was a priority target for us to return, and we are enthusiastic about the impact she can have on Tauihi in 2024.”

“Sharne is a versatile talent with a high ceiling. We know her skillset, work ethic and competitive spirit will help establish a winning culture within our program. We’ve seen Sharne play a variety of roles at both Tauihi and International levels, and we’re looking forward to stitching that all together as an integral part of our identity this season.”

During the Tauihi offseason, Robati played for the Casey Cavaliers in NBL1 South – Australia’s second division – scoring 10.6 points per game.

“I’m excited and grateful for the opportunity to be able to play for the Pouākai again. Also to be coached under Paul will be really good for growing my game,” said Robati.

The cherry on top of Robati’s productive offseason came back in April with her winning silver at the FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup in Singapore and earning All-Tournament team honours. Alongside that, she made her Tall Ferns debut this year at the FIBA Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Xi’an, China, after representing the junior Tall Ferns in 2017 and 2018.
