Tsubasa Nisbet Signs With the Mitsubishi Electric Koalas



Mainland Pouākai forward Tsubasa Nisbet has inked a new deal with the Mitsubishi Electric Koalas of the Women’s Japan Basketball League for the 2023–2024 season. 

Nisbet, a Christchurch local, played her collegiate career at Georgia Southern University (NCAA Division I) on an athletic scholarship, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in public health. 

Following her collegiate career, she signed with the Mainland Pouākai for the inaugural Tauihi season in 2022, making twelve appearances in her first professional season. This past season with the Pouākai Nisbet scored 2.2 points per game in the Tauihi and 4.6 points per game in the Rapid League. 

The Koalas’ 23–24 season is set to tip off on the 14th of October, where Nisbet and her new squad will face off against the Hitachi High-Tech Cougars at Noritsu Arena Wakayama, Wakayama city.
